I am constantly surprised by how many of my favorite love songs seems to be about my kiddo now that I'm a mommy. It is one life change I didn't expect, all these things that once seemed romantic would now just be about unadulterated love.

So today's cover is a pretty funny cover...it is Joni covering Joni. The album Both Sides Now is seriously one of my favorites. Amazing. But I love comparing 2000 Joni to 1969 Joni, sunshine/light to clouds/dark, her self portraits match her voice perfectly.

The City's Heart Begins To Beat

A friend had a Michael Jackson listening party a few nights ago and danced until dawn. I made a joke that you can tell a woman's age by her album preference, "Thriller" versus "Off the Wall"...not too ashamed to say I'm an "Off the Wall" girl.

But when you hear this cover, it is hard to remember this is a dang Michael Jackson song!!!

January is here and I still want to stay under the covers. Since this is my blog, I think I will! Interesting fact, when I met my husband (1991), he looked like Eddie Vedder. They both look a little different now but my husband is still a sweet potato so I got that going for me!
